About

About Blackrock AngusBlackrock Angus has been producing angus Sires for 54 years

The stud was founded to fill a need to produce performance based sires that will make improvements to any breeding operation. Performance based selection remains the core focus of the business.

Blackrock Angus is located in Vasse between of Busselton and Margaret River. The property is on the Swan Coastal Plain, an area known for its productive soils and suitable grazing.

Close to the ocean, the Mediterranean climate provides cool dry summers and wet winters, conducive to many agricultural pursuits.

The Blackrock Stud continues to build on the many highlights it has achieved since it first offered bulls for public sale.

An annual production sale is held each February in Boyanup, Western Australia.

The breeding objective has expanded considerably since those early years from increasing growth to now breeding cattle with moderate birth and mature weight combined with good carcase, breed average fat or above and above average docility.

These breeding goals must not compromise the Angus Breeds inherent strengths of female fertility, the ability to calve unassisted and reconceive quickly. This is the challenge that keeps us going in a breed that has made giant strides over the last 50 years.

Key MomentsKey moments in our 54 year history

Blackrock Angus began over fifty years ago and while many breeding “fads”, and some breeds, have come and gone Blackrock has always stuck to its original aim to produce quality purebred stock backed by performance tested results.
